The BOptom programme combines studies from basic sciences to various Optometric subdisciplines. Close affiliation with institutions in the UK and USA adds credence to the academic quality of the BOptom programme at IUCTT. Graduates are expected to be able to provide vision care and participate in the maintenance of eye health, and in the prevention of blindness within the community. Students will be exposed to various types of visions disorders within different settings while they pursue on the clinical part of the course. Close association between IUCTT and Tun Hussein Onn National Eye Hospital facilitates effective teaching of ocular disease to students, in equipping them to become true primary eye care practitioners.
Entry Requirements: STPM (Science) with 3 Principals including of General Paper, CGPA> 2.0 in the Foundation (Science) or Matriculation (Science) programmes, or other equivalent qualifications such as A-Levels, SAM, MUFY, AUSMAT & etc.. Diploma level qualifications in Science, Ophthalmic Dispensing or Medical Sciences are eligible for credit transfer.
